***SOLD*** 1960 Metropolitan Convertible – $33,000
You are looking at one of the best AMC (Nash) Metropolitans currently for sale. This beautiful 1960 Metropolitan “Series IV” convertible received a full nut and bolt restoration 8 years ago at the world famous Metropolitan Pit Stop. It has been meticulously maintained and garaged ever since. It has not been driven in the rain and is just as clean underneath as up top. The car wears its correct Black over Frost White two-tone paint scheme along with the correct grey diamond-patterned upholstery trimmed in white vinyl. It has been cared for by the same owner for over 4 decades. It came to us already in good shape and was subsequently disassembled and prepared for a complete restoration. Every inch of the car received attention and all mechanical systems were rebuilt or replaced. A great deal of attention was paid to keeping everything on the car as original, including the new lacquer coated braid-over-strand wiring harness and wide whitewall tires. The body was stripped to bare metal and painted inside and out, top to bottom. The engine, transmission, and differential were rebuilt to factory specifications. The chrome was all redone, and the stainless trim straightened and polished to a mirror finish. The brakes, steering and suspension were all disassembled, powder-coated and rebuilt to factory specifications with new components where available. About 2,600 trouble-free miles have been put on the car since completion. The car is nearly perfect, with a handful of very small and very minor paint blemishes. They are hard to see in person and almost impossible to capture on camera. There are no dings, dents or scratches. The interior is perfect. Detailed pictures throughout the restoration are available. This Metropolitan would make an excellent addition to any collection, or a great way to start one. Currently registered with a clean Iowa title. To prepare the car for sale we changed the oil, adjusted the valves, and flushed the brake and clutch hydraulic fluids. It is truly turn key and ready to go.

***SOLD*** 1959 Metropolitan Convertible – $11,500 OBO
1959 Nash (AMC) Metropolitan. This car came from Oklahoma after sitting in a garage for several years. We replaced all the brake components (master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses, shoes, drums), rebuilt the clutch master cylinder, replaced the front shocks and tightened up some loose steering components, cleaned out the fuel system and rebuilt the carburetor, took care of some engine and exhaust leaks and did a tune-up and oil change, replaced the radiator hoses and flushed the cooling system, resealed the rear axle and changed the gear oil in the rear axle and trans. The paint is decent but older and has some issues. The interior is in nice shape. There is some rust underneath the car and some evidence of previous repairs, but nothing major affecting any main structural areas. The car runs and drives very well and can be enjoyed as-is or driven while fixing up even more.

***SOLD*** 1954 Nash Metropolitan – $15,900 OBO
Rare early production convertible just pulled out of 20-year storage. This is a solid, rust-free California car that was restored in the early 1990s and seldom driven before being parked in a clean garage. To get it running again, we went though the fuel system, re-sealing the tank and rebuilding the carburetor & fuel pump. We completely rebuilt the brakes with a new master cylinder, rebuilt wheel cylinders & new shoes. We flushed the cooling system and replaced the water pump, thermostat and all hoses. We resealed the axles and replaced all suspension bushings, front & rear, with polyurethane. We did a full tune-up and adjusted the valves, and the original 1200A engine runs like a champ! All chrome is very nice. The single stage paint shines very well with some minor defects from age. The custom interior and convertible top are in very good shape.
***SOLD*** 1961 Metropolitan – $6,900 OBO
Very original 1961 Nash Metropolitan, runs and drives well with a lot of recent work done. Owned and cared for by the same family since 1970. ***SOLD*** 1954 Hudson Metropolitan Custom Convertible– $35,000
This gorgeous Metropolitan started as a rare Hudson model and spent most of its life as a stock, well-cared for California car. Four years ago it began a full rotisserie “resto-mod” rebuild. Every single nut and bolt was removed from the car and the shell was stripped to bare metal. The frame was reinforced, then the whole car was sprayed in metallic teal paint and then buffed to a showroom shine. The drivetrain was replaced with a Ford 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine and C-4 automatic transmission which were both fully rebuilt and detailed. An aluminum 4-row radiator and electric fan keep it running cool in all conditions. The rebuilt front suspension & steering with MG Midget front disc brakes make it a pleasure to drive. The MG Midget 3.90 differential allows you to cruise comfortably on the highway. The Magnaflow exhaust is well-mannered, but has a growl when you step on it. A new Painless Wiring harness ensures all the electrical components work as they should. The interior is completely custom with color-matched vinyl complimented by tan upholstery and rich loop carpet. The original radio has been converted to AM/FM with an AUX input. Everything was rebuilt or replaced with less than 500 miles. Every inch of this car is pristine including the fully detailed undercarriage.
The car was chosen for STREET RODDER MAGAZINE’S TOP 100 CARS IN THE NATION 2017
